Mrs. Dorothy L. (nee Betz) Hogan, 92, died on January 17, 2022 at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Face masks and social distancing are required.

Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Hogan grew up in Passaic, N.J. and Rochelle Park, N.J. and lived in Clifton before moving to Verona in 1959.

She graduated from Hackensack High School with the Class of 1947 and worked as an executive secretary for the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro before marrying Donald W. Hogan in 1957 when she became the consummate homemaker for her family.

She enjoyed spending summers with her family and friends at her summer cottage in West Dennis, Massachusetts.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church and a member of the OLL Bereavement Committee.

Mrs. Hogan was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Donald W. Hogan, her infant son, Keith Donald Hogan and brother-in-law, Eugene C. Hogan.

She is survived by her loving son, Michael J. Hogan; her brother, William F. Betz; brother-in-law, John E. Hogan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either, the Verona Rescue Squad, 12 Church Street, Verona, NJ 07044 or Our Lady of the Lake Church Endowment Trust, 22 Lakeside Avenue, Verona, NJ 07044 in her memory would be appreciated.
