Caryn A. (nee Couture) Fitzpatrick, 63, passed peacefully on December 29, 2021 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Lakeside Avenue, Verona on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10 a.m.

Born on December 16, 1958 in Montclair, she grew up in Verona (graduating with the Verona High School class of 1976) before moving to West Orange in 2004.

Caryn was a bookkeeper in her working years, last working at Terry’s Drugs in Verona. She loved traveling, music and going to the casino when she could. In recent years, she focused on friendships, her beloved dogs and learning new things. Caryn was a proud and active member of the National Federation of the Blind. The recipient of a kidney transplant, she was able to gift her corneas after death to give the gift of sight to others.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jean Marie “John”, and Mildred Virginia “Ginny” (nee Cohen) Couture.

Caryn is survived by her loving child, Carr Fitzpatrick; her lifelong friend, Michael Del Russi, and cherished fur baby, “Scruffy.”

Donations to the National Federation of the Blind, Outreach Department, 200 East Wells Street, Baltimore, MD 21230, in her memory would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
