If you were thinking of going to see the New Jersey Ballet’s “Nutcracker” at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, know this: There’s a Verona High School senior in the corps de ballet.
Olivia Tedesco, who trains at the New Jersey School of Ballet, has danced in the show before, and was supposed to have danced in the 50th anniversary performances last December. But they were all cancelled by the pandemic, so this year is the new 50th celebration. Tedesco appears in the party scene and in the Waltz of the Snowflakes.
“Nutcracker” performances are Wednesday, December 22, and Thursday, December 23, at 7:30 p.m.; and Friday, December 24, and Sunday, December 26, at 1 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $75. There is also a live-streamed performance on Wednesday and those tickets are $25. The online ticket site is here. The Mayo Performing Arts Center is located in Morristown.
