Mrs. Joyce E. (nee LaFlesh) McEvoy, passed away peacefully at her home in Verona on November 29, 2021. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Thursday, December 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Friday, December 3, at 10 a.m.

Born in Malone, N.Y., she was raised in Pine Brook and moved to Verona in 1959. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School with the Class of 1953.

She was a cashier for Kings Supermarket in Verona for 25 years.

Mrs. McEvoy was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona. She was also a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Verona Rescue Squad and served a Cub Scout den leader.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Raymond C. McEvoy and August “Gus” D. Branco.

Mrs. McEvoy is survived by her loving children, Sharon Anne McEvoy and R. Patrick McEvoy and his wife, Barbara, and cherished grandchildren, John Patrick and Brian McEvoy.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either, the Verona Rescue Squad, 12 Church Street, Verona, NJ 07044 or the Verona Fire Department, 880 Bloomfield Ave., Verona, NJ 07044 would be appreciated.
