Girls Cross Country Scores Wins In County Meet

Seniors Annalie Ying, Lucy Hogan, Jessica Day, Meghan Kenneally and Eleanor Newman

This past Saturday, Annalie Ying of the Verona High School girls cross country team came in first place in the senior girls division at the Essex County Coaches Class Meet.

Verona’s senior class team of Ying, Jessica Day, Meghan Kenneally, Lucy Hogan and Eleanor Newman also took first place honors, while Lily Nachbaur won the ninth grade race. Ninth graders Angelie Sin and Kylie Kiernan, tenth grader Nadia Prieto, and 11th graders Kara Dunphy, Katie Repoli and Kaitlyn Dunn also competed for Verona.

The next big meet for Verona girls cross country is the Essex County Championships at Brookdale Park on Friday, October 29.
