Marching band competitions were halted by the pandemic, but Verona High School’s Marching Maroon & White came back to the field in a big way this past Saturday, September 25.

Competing at Roxbury High School, the marching band earned second place overall and also won the award for best visual in the highly competitive “AAA” class.

The competition was organized by the New Jersey Marching Band Directors Association (NJMBDA) and consisted of 70, high-performing bands from across New Jersey. The NJMBDA will hold a marching band competition at VHS on Saturday, October 23, beginning at 4 p.m.
