The Dad Band gets another chance to play for all of Verona this Saturday

The Dad Band was supposed to be the opening act in Verona’s summer concert series on July 7. But the appearance was rained out, so town officials decided to turn the rain date into much more than a concert.

This Saturday, September 25, The Dad Band will be playing in front of Town Hall at the heart of what’s being billed as a town-wide block party. The fun runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with The Dad Band taking to the stage at 12:30 p.m.

In keeping with the block party theme, there will be free burgers, hot dogs and wings from Eight Hills Caterers starting at 11:30 a.m. Hearth Realty will also have free bottled water and popcorn, and the Towne Scoop will be there with the ice cream truck. Hearth and Eight Hills were to have been the sponsors of The Dad Band’s original July appearance.

Since this is all taking place around the driveway in front of Town Hall and H.B. Whitehorne Middle School, there will be space reserved in the driveway for something else that Verona has come to enjoy—chalk art. Organizers says they have a limited amount of chalk available, so please bring your own if you have it. There will also be cornhole boards and other family-friendly yard games and activities.
