The artistry of Verona High School students will soon be on display in the businesses of Verona.
In place of the traditional Creative Arts Festival at VHS (which was moved online last May), this year will be the debut of the Art Walk. Student drawings, paintings and photography will be featured in more than two dozen businesses across town from Monday, June 7, to Friday June 18. The artists, and the teachers who have been mentoring them, are also working to add outdoor musical entertainment on Saturday, June 12.
Participating businesses include Alpha Fit Club, Artist Frame Gallery, Avenue Bistro, Bello Barbers, Berkshire Hathaway Home Serves NJ Properties, Blue Hippo Coffee Co., Canine Designs, Crunch Fitness Verona, Dolce Marie, Dynamic Speed and Fitness, Eight Hills/Lakeside, Empanada Lady, Frank Anthony’s, Fusion Eatery, Green Point Juicery, Hearth Reality Group, Jack’s Cafe, Learning Express, Mud Sweat Tears, NJ Kitchen & Baths, North Point Reality Group, Olive That!, Thai Elephant, The Room, Verona Shoe Repair and Verona Yoga. There will be a map of all locations on the Art Walk’s website and you can also follow the Art Walk on Instagram.
VHS seniors Colvin Kramer and Kara Johansen have been working on Art Walk as part of their Capstone, and Kramer designed the event logo. Other senior Capstone students have been working with Steve Neale, Verona’s director of economic development, as liaisons with the businesses community.
