Mr. Gary R. Grasso, 63, of Verona, died on April 5, 2021 in New York, N.Y.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Lake Church (22 Lakeside Avenue, Verona) on Monday, April 12 at 4 p.m. Friends may visit with the family at the church prior to mass, from 2 to 4 p.m. Face masks and social distancing are required. Born in Newark, Mr. Grasso was a lifelong resident of Verona and graduated from Verona High School in 1975. He worked hard maintaining his hometown’s buildings and grounds and retired in 2017 after 42 years with the Township of Verona.

In his free time, Gary was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Church. Gary was a huge Dallas Cowboys and Yankees fan and enjoyed old west movies. Sunday afternoon dinners with family were fun filled and memorable.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred Grasso and MaryAnn (nee Gerard) Grasso.

Mr. Grasso is survived by his daughters, Brianna Ricci (Peter) and Danielle Grasso (Gibbs Fillmore); his wife, Annemarie; his sister, Angela Grasso and his brothers, Fred Grasso and Lawrence Grasso. He is also survived by his niece, Anna Marie Grasso; former wife and mother of his children, Linda Cocucci Grasso and many nieces, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Verona Rescue Squad or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
