The YMCA of Montclair, in partnership with MedRite, is proud to offer the greater Montclair community COVID-19 testing at the Park Street YMCA beginning February 11. MedRite will staff walk-up Rapid and PCR testing at the Park Street YMCA for individuals seeking COVID-19 testing.

“Our partnership with MedRite enables our Y to continue to address our community’s critical needs during the pandemic,” said YMCA of Montclair President and CEO Buddy Evans. “Our Park Street YMCA is conveniently located in downtown Montclair by major bus routes giving access to testing for many in our community,” said Evans.

Since the pandemic crisis started, the Y has offered emergency childcare to essential workers, blood drives, food distribution, and served as a PPE collection point.

Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller said, “Having an additional COVID testing site in our community aids our efforts in reducing the spread of the virus and getting those who test positive critical early medical care. We are thankful that the YMCA of Montclair and MedRite has teamed up to provide this essential service.”

Individuals interested in being tested at the Park Street YMCA are invited to come to 25 Park Street, Montclair, beginning February 11 through April 30. Entrance to the Y will be located via the side entrance door along the Y’s driveway. Testing will be available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (February only). Masks are required.

MedRite staff will collect patient information on-site. Patients must bring a health insurance card and photo I.D. Patients receive rapid test results within an hour and PCR lab tests within 24 to 72 hours after reaching the lab.

All testing is at no cost to the patient and covered by insurance. For more information on testing, please contact MedRite at [email protected]. For questions directed to the YMCA of Montclair, please contact Lisa Kievit, Senior Membership Director at 973-559- 9281 or email [email protected].
