The Friends of the Verona Public Library can’t hold its largest fundraiser, the December Book Sale, because of COVID-19.

The Friends of the Verona Public Library (FoVPL) has launched its first annual appeal to ensure that the Verona Public Library can continue to offer vital programs at this challenging time. FoVPL’s biggest fundraiser, the annual December Book Sale, has been put on hold this year due to Covid-19 safety issues, just as the library has launched a number of new FoVPL-supported programs to assist the community.

Please contribute what you can! To make a donation, please visit: Veronalibrary.org/fol-membership-form. Checks made payable to Friends of the Verona Public Library may also be sent to 17 Gould Street, Verona, NJ 07044.

For over 37 years, the FoVPL, a non-profit, has relied on membership donations and its book sale fundraisers to provide financial support to the library’s full array of programs for children, teens, and adults, in addition to audio/hard copy books, technology, and furnishings. Below are just a few wonderful programs the library is offering to aid all members of our community at this difficult time:

  • Unlimited access to qualified tutors through Brainfuse. Brainfuse provides free on-demand, one-on-one online homework help seven days a week, live writing assistance, and practice exams, including the SAT, ACT, GED and GRE to name a few. A resume writing lab, ESL services and digital literacy support are also available through Brainfuse.
  • Museums are opening up again, so the Library has restarted the popular Museum Pass Program. Gain free admission to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Storm King Art Center, Montclair Art Museum, Morris Museum, Guggenheim, and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan.
  • Other highly popular FoVPL-supported programs include Sing Along with Miss Emily, Italian Conversational Group, and Summer Reading for all ages.
