The mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Verona’ Thrift Shop is to support the local community while also financially supporting the church.

To that end, on this Giving Tuesday, December 1, the Thrift Shop wants you to know that if you, or someone you know, does not have or cannot afford a warm coat, sweater, blanket or afghan this winter, you should send the Thrift Shop a private message on Facebook.

“No matter who you are, we do not want you to be cold this winter,” the Thrift Shop says. “Our all volunteer staff are here to help.”

The shop is open Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursdays 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Facial coverings are required for entry and only 20 people (including staff) are permitted in at a time.

(We purposely don’t say free because we do have some “customers” who try to take advantage. However, we do have a free area outside the shop and if someone does message us, we will arrange for that person to get something warm for the winter.)
