County COVID Testing Coming To Cedar Grove, Fairfield, West Orange

As the number of positive cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Essex County and in Verona, the county has announced new sites for free testing, including on Saturday.

The test sites for the rest of this week are:

  • Wednesday, December 2, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Essex County Department of Public Works, 99 West Bradford Avenue, Cedar Grove
  • Thursday, December 3, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Essex County Airport, 73 Passaic Avenue, Fairfield
  • Friday, December 4, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Essex County Weequahic Park, Meeker Avenue entrance, Newark
  • Saturday, December 5, 8 a.m. to noon, Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex, Archery Field, Cherry Lane, West Orange

Essex County residents age eight and older, with or without symptoms are encouraged to get tested. Residents are encouraged to get retested if they have taken the swab or saliva tests 14 days ago or more and have received negative test results. Testing is provided free of charge. Health insurance is not required, but you must make an appointment at www.EssexCovid.org or by calling 973-877-8456.

As of this morning, there were 35,322 positive COVID-19 cases in Essex County, out of 334,114 statewide. Verona’s positives now stand at 296, an increase of almost 41% since November 1.
