Mrs. Karen E. Bruno (nee Crosson), 66, died on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Glen Ridge.

Visiting will be on Thursday, October 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave, Verona. Interment will take place on Friday, October 23 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 56 Cedar Grove Ave., Toms River. Facial masks must be worn and social distancing observed.

Born and raised in Newark, Mrs. Bruno lived in Irvington before moving to Verona in 1978. She worked as a clerk for New Jersey Bell Telephone in East Orange before dedicating her life as a loving homemaker. Mrs. Bruno volunteered as an assistant Girl Scout troop leader and was an animal lover.

Her generous spirit will live on in the many lives she will touch through organ donation.

Mrs. Bruno was predeceased by her parents, James and Cecelia Crosson.

She is survived by her husband, John Bruno, son, Justin Bruno, daughter, Holly Bruno (Richard Giannantonio) and brother, James Crosson (Angie).

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter or PAWS Montclair would be appreciated.
