The Verona Recreation Department is holding a pumpkin decorating contest for Verona residents of all ages,
Beginning Monday, October 19, the Rec Department wants you to carve, paint or decorate a pumpkin, then drop it off in the front lobby of the Verona Community Center.
Pumpkins must be clearly labeled with your family’s name and the age category you are submitting for. Pumpkins will be photographed, posted on Verona’s social media pages and judged, and winners will be chosen for the most creative pumpkin in each age group. There is no cost to enter, but you must be registered on Community Pass to be eligible to win a prize.
Pumpkins can be dropped off Monday through Friday, October 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After the contest winners are announced, pumpkins can be picked up at the VCC gym on Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The contest age groups are:
- Kindergarten to 2nd grade
- 3rd & 4th grade
- 5th through 8th grade
- 9th through 12th grade
- Adult 18+
