Max Morden’s next free outdoor concert on Brookside Terrace will have a distinct country twang to it.
On Saturday, September 19 at 4:30 p.m., Morden and his pals will be playing Merle Haggard, Shania Twain, The Everly Brothers, Dolly Parton, Travis Tritt, Linda Ronstadt, George Strait and Willie Nelson.
The participating musicians will include Gary Oleyar, a fiddler and vocalist who has toured with Loggins and Messina, and Bob Seeger.
Morden, who teaches music in Verona’s public schools, started the pop-up concerts on his front lawn on July 4 with a rousing collection of John Philip Sousa marches. Since then, he’s had jazz and pop, polkas, waltzes and a big dose of the 60s. Morden’s front lawn is on the west side of Brookside, just off Linden Avenue.
