Police Investigate 2 Daytime Burglaries
The Verona Police Department is asking for residents to be on the lookout for unusual activity in their neighborhood after two daytime burglaries were reported in the last 48 hours.
One burglary took place in the Brookdale section and one in Forest, and neither home was occupied at the time. “We are currently reviewing doorbell cams in the area and speaking with neighbors, and the investigation is moving quickly,” said Chief Christopher Kiernan on Saturday. “I encourage residents to lock their doors and set their alarm if they have one.”
“And always call dispatch is you see something suspicious,” Kiernan added. “No one knows your neighborhood better than you.”
The main phone number for VPD dispatch is 973-239-5000.
