Police Department’s Nixle Alerts Switching To App
If you have been getting safety and traffic alerts from the Verona Police Department (VPD) via the text messaging service Nixle, you’ll need to upgrade to a mobile app called Everbridge to keep on receiving them.
According to an email from the VPD today, you can download the free Everbridge app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Once it is installed, you will need to open it and allow notifications. Then click on “Find an organization or subscription,” and you will be asked if you are a Nixle subscriber. The next screen will prompt you to enter your phone number and confirm than with an authentication code sent to your phone. All future Nixle alerts will be delivered through the app.
That’s it.
