Spring usually bring flocks of flamingos to the lawns of Verona, courtesy of the Verona High School Spotlight Players. Sadly, the annual Flamingo Flock Fundraiser has been postponed due to COVID-19.

This is particularly disappointing seeing as this talented group of teens were recently nominated for several “Foxys” from Montclair State University’s Theatre Night Awards, which will take place virtually on May 19. Nominated for their work in the fall’s “Comedy of Errors” were: Griffin Willner for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Classical Play, Aidan Callari for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actor in a Classical Play, Abby Bermeo for Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actress in a Classical Play and the entire cast of “Comedy of Errors” for Outstanding Achievement by an Acting Ensemble of a Classical Play.

However, you can still support the VHS Spotlight Players, specifically the graduating seniors, they are offering Spotlight Player lawn signs. There are two options: to shout out your senior or to support the Class of 2020. All signs are 24 x 18 and cost $20 each.

Ordering is simple through this online form. Orders are due by this Friday  (May 15) and all monies raise will be going to scholarships for Spotlight Players Class of 2020 seniors.
