Rosalind M. De Santis, Loved The Verona Pool

Rosalind M. De Santis passed away peacefully on Monday April 13, 2020.

Rosalind was the loving daughter of Vincent and Rose (nee Di Domenico) Capozzi. She was born on January 17, 1943 in Newark and grew up in Bloomfield, where she graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1961. She worked briefly for the Victor Adding Machine Company in Newark before getting married in 1965.

Rosalind was the devoted wife of 54 years to Nicholas De Santis. They started their married life in Bloomfield and East Orange and eventually settled in Verona where they raised their three sons. Rosalind was a very outgoing and vivacious person who enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker and delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. She was also very involved in many civic and youth sports organizations in town. Rosalind was well known for her fantastic organizational and people skills and her love of swimming and the Verona Community Pool.

She is survived by her husband Nicholas De Santis; sons Nicholas A. De Santis, Anthony N. De Santis and his wife, Jessica, and Michael J. De Santis and his wife, Jessica, granddaughters Gianna De Santis and Hazel De Santis; grandsons Dante De Santis and Theodore De Santis; and brothers James Capozzi, Edward Capozzi and his wife, Linda. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews that she cherished very much.

Arrangements are under the guidance of Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. A memorial service will be announced in the future.

Those wishing to may make a donation in her name to the St. Joseph’s Healthcare and Rehab Center, 315 E. Lindsley Rd., Cedar Grove, NJ 07009 who provided Rosalind with such compassionate care in the last year and a half of her life.
