Yesterday’s weather wasn’t optimal for walking around town looking at doors, so we picked a location that many Veronans visit daily, rain or shine, and might have in their visual memory. And it took Sarah Frawley just 12 minutes to guess that it was Raj Krauszer’s on Grove Avenue. Close on her entry were another dozen guesses, and many of them picked Raj’s for the location too.
But there can only be one winner each day, and for her winning guess, Sarah got a gift certificate to Empyrean Massage & Bodywork. Empyrean is one of Verona’s newer businesses, located in an office building on Pompton Avenue, which is sort of interesting because the owner left a corporate job to make her career in the more holistic world of massage, aromatherapy and energy work. Empyrean is one of many businesses that is closed now as we fight the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, but when that ban is lifted, it will be open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Now it’s on to the April 14 contest and today’s photo is above. Fred Goode, who has taken all the photos for “Doors of Verona” (and our previous “Where In Verona Is It?” contests) said we needed to crop this one closely, and hopefully we have. If you know where it is, you must post your guess in the comments section below.
If you win, you’ll get bragging rights and something even sweeter: A gift certificate to Verona Yoga. MyVeronaNJ.com is spending at least $1,000 to buy gift certificates from Verona businesses while the contest runs. And remember:The day’s gift certificate won’t match the location photographed.
Each day’s contest will remain open until we have a winner, and if you win once, you can’t win again. So, where was today’s photo taken?
The picture is krauzers o grove avenue
Sorry! I was confused with today’s post on Instagram and above. My guess for today is Amethyst hair salon, on Bloomfield avenue
Bagelwich?
No worries. But no, it’s not Amethyst.
bike shop at 400 Bloomfield Ave
No, not Bagelwich.
Congratulations Jeff, you got it: It is the front door of Electric Spokes, which is now also known as the first franchise of Voltaire Cycles. Watch your email for your gift certificate from Verona Yoga.
Tire store on Bloomfield Ave
Please offer the gift certificate to one of the Verona Police dispatchers if you would not mind.
We’ll make that happen Jeff!
Alas, no. Jeff Shilling already got the winning answer, which is the Electric Spokes/Voltaire Cycles store at the corner of Bloomfield and Park.
