Travis Jocelyn, who graduated Verona High School with the class of 2017, now plays basketball for The College Of New Jersey (TCNJ). Today, he was named Third Team All-Atlantic Region by D3hoops.com. His teammate Randall Walko was named First Team All-Atlantic Region.
This has been an historic season for TCNJ. The Lions won their first NJAC Championship and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1997-98. TCNJ picked up its first NCAA Tournament win since 1988-89 with a first-round win over Marietta.
This is Jocelyn’s first career all-region honor after a breakout junior season. He has averaged 17.2 points and six boards per game. He led TCNJ with an efficient 50.7% shooting rate from the field and 40.9% clip from three-point range. Jocelyn scored at least 11 points in every single game this season. He was also named First Team All-NJAC.
D3hoops.com accepted 769 nominations of student-athletes from who earned first or second team all-conference honors for all-region recognition. This is the 19th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team, and this year’s All-America team will be the 23rd annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches’ associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
