Ying Honored At National Girls And Women In Sports Day

Jenika Ying, who plays cross country, track and lacrosse at Verona High School, was honored at National Girls and Women in Sports Day at Seton Hall University on Sunday, February 9. The award was presented to her by Tara Rienecker, president of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women and assistant athletic director at Montclair State University. Governor Phil Murphy proclaimed it Girls in Sports Day for New Jersey.

Laning Avenue School’s Daisy and Brownie Troops got a jump on the event on February 1, celebrating Girls in Sports Day on at a sports clinic at Montclair State University that was coached by MSU student-athletes.
