On Saturday, January 18, approximately 25 4th and 5th graders participated in the annual Spelling Bee competition held at F.N. Brown Elementary School. The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona would like to thank all the children who participated and congratulate our winners. Congratulations to Josh Dimalanta, 1st place (OLL), Matthew Schaller, 2nd place (HBW), and Lara Schwartz, 3rd place (Forest Avenue).
Thank you to our judges Dr. Rui Dionisio, superintendent of Verona Public Schools; Jack McEvoy, mayor of Verona; and Claudine Pascale, director of the Verona Public Library, who kindly volunteered their time for the morning. Thank you to Carrie Quigley and Yvonne Tou from the Verona Juniors who organized the event. Finally, thank you to Verona Juniors Member, Rachel Klansky, who announced the words.
