The Verona Woman’s Club, with assistance from the Verona/West Essex Juniorettes and the Junior Woman’s Club of Verona, sponsored the “Share your Light Night” in Verona on Friday, December 20. The Mayor and Town Council issued a proclamation designating the project as an example of community unity and spirit. The town streets glowed with the lovely lighted bags.

The profits from “Share Your Light Night” help the Verona Woman’s Club to provide scholarships to Verona residents graduating from high school, as well as support for local organizations such as the Rescue Squad, the Fire Department, the food pantry at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit and the Verona Children’s Fund.

The Verona Woman’s Club would like to thank the Department of Public Works, as well as the volunteer families from Our Lady of the Lake, the Verona High School Key Club members and students from Mount Saint Dominic for all their help.

The town square was also lit by the beautiful lights and we would like to thank our sponsors for their support in our event:

The Verona Woman’s Club intends to continue this fundraiser and special event next year.

The Verona Woman’s Club meets the first Monday of the month from September to June at the community center and are looking for new members. If you would be interested in joining the club please contact the co-presidents, Kathy Mortara at 973-902-1959 [email protected] or Linnea Mathers at 973-239-5789 [email protected].
