Tonight–Friday, September 20, Verona High School will host Boonton High School at 7 p.m. in a Super Football Conference match-up. VHS is expecting a large crowd for the game, and school officials and the Verona Police Department want to make sure that everyone is aware of the traffic and gate entry rules.
All VHS students must enter through the student gate on Sellitto Field. Students will not be permitted to bring bottles, bags, backpacks, or purses into the game. Any liquids must be disposed of before entering Sellitto Field.
Parking will be available on site in the VHS tennis court parking lot and along Sampson Drive. Overflow parking will be available on Grove Avenue and Fairview Avenue. The VPD says that there will be no parking on Dodd Terrace. The police will create a pedestrian safety zone between the tennis court lot and Sellitto Field.
One more thing: Zoey Penny, the young Verona girl with the rapid aging disease Progeria, will be doing the coin toss at tonight’s game. Zoey will also be promoting her Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, the 5K race and one mile “fun run” that raise money for Progeria research.
