The August meeting of the United Way of Northern New Jersey‘s Caregivers Coalition will focus on rights and benefits for the LGBT community. The free presentation will be held Tuesday, August 13, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Verona Community Center. The presenters will be Laurie Hauptman, an eldercare and special needs attorney with Hauptman & Hauptman, P.C. and Bianca Chanel Mayes, a health and wellness coordinator with Garden State Equality.
The United Way Caregivers Coalition provides free seminars to help unpaid caregivers get information and the support they need in their caregiving role. The Coalition brings together caregivers, medical professionals, social service agencies, businesses, and other community groups to support unpaid family caregivers in suburban Essex County.
