Saturday and Sunday are going to be scorchers so Verona officials are giving you some ways to stay cool. Verona has opened cooling centers at the Community Center and Verona Pool for all Verona residents.
The VCC will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days, and the pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please note that, if you are going to the pool, you must bring ID that shows that you are a Verona resident. If you are not already a pool member, you should know that non-members cannot bring guests during the cooling days. Also, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
One other cool spot is the Verona Library, which will be open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
And one cool spot you might want to avoid: Devil’s Hole, on the Peckman River in Cedar Grove. The Cedar Grove Police have been ticketing swimmers there.
