Mr. Donald William “Bill” Brunner, 91, died on July 2, 2019 in Fairfield. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Friday, July 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Notre Dame Church, 359 Central Ave., North Caldwell on Saturday, July 6 at 10 a.m.

He was born and raised in North Caldwell before moving to Fairfield in 1980. He graduated from Grove Cleveland High School, attended the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics and served in the U.S. Navy as Seaman First Class.

Mr. Brunner was co-owner of C.T. Brunner and Sons in Verona, at one time the oldest family owned Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in the nation.

He was a member of the Greater Newark Auto Dealers Association, Essex County Auto Trade Association and New Jersey Auto Dealers Association.

Mr. Brunner is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie (nee Gay) Brunner; loving children, Kathleen Prager, Susan Van Dyke, MD (Chuck Friedman, Esq.), William R. Brunner, Esq. (Susan Gardner Brunner) and Robert E. Brunner; and cherished grandchildren (13) and great-grandchildren (6).
