The Verona Historical Society invites you to join them on Tuesday, June 4, for a tour of Verona’s historic White Rock. The landmark boulder sits high atop Second Mountain and is the centerpiece of a stunning environment. There are local stories and history concerning its use as an important meeting site and it has been associated with Verona’s history for 200 years. There may well be archaeological evidence in the area not only of gatherings since 1805 but of Native American presence at the rock. White Rock is poised to be Verona’s next local historic designation.
The Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the parking area by the green water tower at the top of White Rock Road, which is just before the entrance to the Highlands at Hilltop apartments. For more information you can email the society: [email protected]
