On Thursday, May 16, the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee (VMAC) will host a presentation for parents on the dangers of vaping and marijuana concentrates and edibles.
VMAC says there has been an increase among both middle and high school students using vapes and becoming addicted to nicotine. Vaping devices are also being used with cannabis-infused oils to deliver THC, a chemical in marijuana that alters mood and cognition. The one-hour presentation, which will be held at the Verona Public Library from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., will give parents information on the harmful toxins, chemicals and diseases associated with vaping, and help them talk to their child about it.
The program will also have information on marijuana edibles, along with the legal ramifications of having devices and or other paraphernalia.
Seating will be limited, so if you do want to attend, you need to register in advance here.
