To The Editor:

I would be remiss if I did not take this time to comment on our Deputy Mayor, Michael Nochimson. I have known Michael for a number of years and have been impressed by how he truly cares for the community and the legacy that he leaves behind.

When the library was being renovated, Michael took up the cause for the preservation of the historical mantelpiece which was slated for demolition. The original mantel was carefully removed and shipped to a conservation center where it was meticulously restored and returned to Verona where it will continue to keep watch over generations to come. This iconic piece of woodwork is a Verona treasure which we can continue to enjoy thanks to Michael’s effective persuasion of convincing others on the Town Council and Library Board. He is reliable and committed to making Verona a place were are all proud of.

On a personal note, when my house burned a couple years ago, Michael was there to assist in whatever way he could to help me and my family get back on our feet.

As a member of a family that has resided in the area since 1686, I wholeheartedly endorse Michael Nochimson without any reservation whatsoever and hope others will do the same come election day.

Sincerely,
Robert L. Williams
Verona
