The Verona Police Department has issued eight summonses to a 21-year-old driver Verona resident, including driving under the influence, after she hit two street signs and toppled a transformer before her car end up in the front yard of a house on Grove Avenue. The accident occurred near the intersection at Linden Avenue overnight. The VPD did not identify the driver, and said that the accident was still under investigation.

PSEG crews closed Grove between Linden and Kenwood Avenue for several hours this morning to repair the damaged transformer pole and the wires that had come down.

UPDATE: A previous version of this story mis-identified the city in which the driver lives. It is not Verona.
