I was the President of the Junior Woman’s Club of Verona from 2012-2014. As a result, I worked very closely with Christine McGrath as she held two positions on our Board during that time period; treasurer and fundraising chair. She is, without question, one of the hardest working volunteers that I’ve encountered during my twelve years in Verona. The amount of time, passion, energy and skills that she brought to our Club was incomparable.

Christine was particularly gifted in understanding, assessing, and communicating the financial details of our non-profit organization. She made strategic changes that enabled us to become more transparent and ultimately, more successful. Her hard work and leadership skills, as both the treasurer and fundraising chair, are evident in the support that we were able to give our local businesses, schools and other non-profit organizations during that time period.

In addition to her financial savvy, Christine had the unique ability to look at a problem and see multiple solutions. Not only was she able to articulate her solutions in a way that made sense, but she always listened carefully to opposing points of view in a respectful and open-minded manner. In addition to these many assets, her impeccable character and her ability to remain measured during periods of conflict, led me to ask her to consider the role of JWCV President for the 2014-2016 term. I was thrilled when she accepted and I watched as she led our Club toward continued success.

I’m honored to support Christine McGrath in her bid for town council and I have no doubt that, if elected, she will serve the members of our community with the same intelligence, character and passion that she displayed as a leader in the Junior Women’s Club of Verona.

Sincerely,

Kristen Donohue
Verona
