Mickey Lawrence recently brought her grandchildren, Charlie and Francesca, to plant the Woman’s Club of Verona’s pinwheel garden in front of the Verona Community Center. The pinwheels bring awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month, sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey. The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona has planted a similar pinwheel garden outside of Verona Police Department.

In March, the Town Council honored the Woman’s Club of Verona for 125 years of service to the town. Its fundraising now supports both the VHS scholarships and donations to various service organizations in town. The club recently opened applications for its 2019 scholarships.
