Mikie SherrillCongresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), Verona’s new representative to Congress, has announced the location of her district office and set a date for her first town hall meeting with constituents.

The office will be at 8 Wood Hollow Road, Suite 203, in Parsippany, which is near the Route 80/Route 287 interchange. It is also served by the 874 and 79 NJ Transit bus routes. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Congresswoman Sherrill will open the office to the public on January 14, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., for the first of her “Monday with Mikie” gatherings.

“An accessible, centrally-located district office is incredibly important to me and my staff,” Congresswoman Sherrill said in a prepared statement. “I am looking forward to welcoming residents to their New Jersey office and continuing an open dialogue with the community.” Sherrill’s Washington, D.C. office is located room 1208 of the Longworth office building.

Congresswoman Sherrill also announced that her first town hall will take place at the Hanover Township Community Center in Whippany at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22. The town hall will be first come, first seated, for the first 400 attendees.

“I can think of no better way to kick off the first district work week of the new Congress, than with a town hall meeting,” Congresswoman Sherrill said. “The town hall is a wonderful opportunity to share my legislative priorities, update everyone on what I’ve seen and heard in Washington, and then take the community’s concerns back with me to Congress.”

An absence of in-person town halls was a sore point for some constituents under Verona’s previous congressman, Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen. He stopped holding in-person events in 2014, though he did hold several virtual town halls over the phone.
