The Week Ahead: December 2-8, 2018

The Verona Public Library is back in its original building, and its expansion means that there is lots of room for activities. This week’s calendar has events for toddlers through adults at the Library, and there will be more to come. The week ends with Share Your Light Night, the annual fundraiser and display of community unity organized by the Verona Woman’s Club, Junior Woman’s Club of Verona and Juniorettes.

Here’s what’s happening:

Sunday, December 2
Hockey vs. Bayonne, 5 p.m., Codey Arena
Menorah Lighting, 6 p.m., near entrance to Verona Police Department

Monday, December 3
Baby Lap-Sit Story Time, 10 a.m. Verona Public Library
Town Council meeting, 7 p.m. Town Hall. Discussion of Cameco purchase and affordable housing plans.

Tuesday, December 4
Toddler Story Time, 10 a.m., Verona Public Library
Half-day, HBW and elementary schools, for parent-teacher conferences
Afternoon crafts with Mrs. Autorino, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Verona Public Library
Swim meet vs. Newark Academy , 4 p.m., at Newark Academy High School
Community Tree Lighting, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Verona Community Center

Wednesday, December 5
Half-day, HBW and elementary schools, for parent-teacher conferences
Hockey vs. West Essex, 6:15 p.m., Codey Arena

Thursday, December 6
Meditation & Relaxation, 10 a.m., Verona Public Library
Singalong for Babies & Toddlers, 10 a.m., Verona Public Library
Half-day, HBW and elementary schools, for parent-teacher conferences
Swim meet vs. Livingston, 3:30 p.m., at Livingston/ West Essex YMCA
Knit For A Cause, 7 p.m., Verona Public Library
