Camp Fire jacket donations from Verona residents via MyVeronaNJDave Conlan and his father are going to have a big trip to the Post Office tomorrow.

This past Sunday, Conlan, who graduated Verona High School with the class of 1998, put out a call for Veronans to help the victims of the Camp Fire in northern California. He had gotten to know the area around Paradise, Calif., the epicenter of the devastation, as a graduate student and he knew from friends back there how much it is hurting now.

Though Conlan doesn’t live in Verona any more, his dad does and, together, they concocted a plan to collect mid-weight jackets in a bin in front of his father’s garage on Franklin Street. Veronans responded, and about 100 jackets will be sent to California on Friday.
