Kate Ashley, a senior at Verona High School, signed a national letter of intent last week to run track at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.

If you are counting, that will make three Ashley sisters from Verona playing Division 1 sports. Julia Ashley is a soccer standout at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Maggie Ashley stars in lacrosse at Bucknell University.

Kate Ashley, pictured above with VHS Track Coach Gene Leporati, has had a distinguished track career at VHS. She has qualified for track & field’s highest honor, the Meet of Champions, for both winter and spring track in the 800 meter distance, and has been a conference champion in the 400m and 4 x 400 relay.
