Mr. Thomas G. Spooner, 64, died on October 2, 2018 at his home in West Orange. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Wednesday, October 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Thursday at 10 a.m. with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Born in Montclair and raised in Verona, Mr. Spooner has lived in West Orange for four years. He graduated from Verona High School, class of 1972, and was a family caregiver for most of his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, William B. Spooner, III and Margaret (Ennis) Spooner, his sister, Rosellen Dowd and brothers-in-law, Karl Saks and Alexis DeJesus.
Mr. Spooner is survived by his sisters, Peggy DeJesus, Wendy Saks and Nancy-Sue Spooner and brothers, William B., IV, Richard B., Laurence P., David J. and Mark C.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
