Burglary Suspect Charged
Verona Police have charged Jonathan Joseph, age 24, from Irvington with 25 counts of burglary, two counts of criminal attempt, and one count of motor vehicle theft. These charges stem from a lengthy investigation of a burglary spree that occurred in the Laning area of town this past July. At the time, a person was seen on several home video systems in Verona and West Caldwell pulling on car door handles and walking around homes.
“Mr. Joseph’s arrest was possible in part due to home owners surveillance systems and also a tremendous amount of leg work and cooperation between West Essex Police Departments. It was a multidimensional investigation that spread throughout several counties. The Verona charges are a result of Detective Sergeant Timothy Banta and Detective TJ Conroy’s tenacious efforts”.
Joseph faces numerous charges out of Woodbridge, West Caldwell and Fairfield among others. He is currently housed in Middlesex County Jail.
Verona Police thank West Caldwell Police, and Woodbridge Police for their assistance throughout the investigation.
