The Caregivers Coalition is a free monthly program from the United Way of Northern New Jersey to help people care for parents, spouses, children, siblings, or friends with illnesses, disabilities, and the needs that come with aging. Its next meeting on Tuesday, September 11, will focus on emergency preparedness. The meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Verona Community Center, located at 880 Bloomfield Avenue in Verona.

The United Way started the Caregivers Coalition because unpaid caregivers often take on their role without training or preparation, and caregiving can raise challenges to the caregiver’s physical, emotional, and financial health. It holds free programs programs on critical issues at the Community Center on the second Tuesday of every month, with the exception of November.
