The Verona Recreation Department will be adding a guided meditation class to its program lineup this fall.
Psychotherapist and Karuna Relaxation ReikiĀ® Master Sue Waldman will facilitate a relaxed, comforting and peaceful guided meditation. Using breath work, Karuna ReikiĀ®, aromatherapy, Tibetan chimes, and aromatherapy, learn the techniques of quieting your mind and enjoy the deep, lasting benefits of this ancient practice on your mind, body and spirit. Outcomes such as: reduction of stress, increased ability to concentrate, freedom from detrimental patterns of thought, emotion and behavior, increased learning, improved memory and health.
The class will be held on six Wednesdays at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Avenue, from 8 to 8:45 p.m. The six sessions are September 12 and 19, and October 10, 17, 24, and 31. The cost to participate is $75 and advance registration is required through the Recreation Department’s Community Pass system. No experience needed. Wear comfortable and layered clothes.
Give yourself the gift of connecting with your heart, spirit and body. Mindfulness, as a way of life, focuses on cultivating a wholesome mind that will produce positive thoughts that contribute to your well being, simultaneously, the well-being of the whole world.
UPDATE: There will not be a class on October 31, so the program will just be five classes.
