The Verona High School girls and boys soccer teams will be holding a car wash on Saturday, September 8, that will support both teams and Toni’s Kitchen, the soup kitchen and food ministry of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Montclair.

The car wash will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the driveway in front of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School. The teams say they will donate a “significant portion” of funds raised to support Toni’s Kitchen.

They will also be collecting food items for the soup kitchen, which you can drop off while getting your car washed. The most urgently needed items are coffee, fresh produce, paper towels, peanut butter (not in glass jars), shelf-stable milk, rice, raisins and other dried fruits, healthy breakfast cereals and oatmeal. The teams say, however, that any food donation is welcome.
