Mrs. Gene M. Young, 93, died on April 24, 2018 at her home in Verona. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Thursday, April 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will be held in St. Agnes Episcopal Church, 65 Union Avenue, Little Falls on Friday, April 27 at 2 p.m.
Born and raised in Queens, N.Y., Mrs. Young lived in Colorado and Little Falls prior to moving to Verona in 1968.
She was the director of the United Way of North Essex in Montclair for over 40 years.
Mrs. Young was in the Altar Guild, Choir and served on the Vestry of St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Little Falls. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond R. Young, her grandchild, Casey, and her sister, Shirley Mitchell.
Mrs. Young is survived by her loving sons, Jonathan (Ellen), Andrew (Leslie), Christopher (Kristi), cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Sydney, Chelsea, Jennifer, Madison, and Kellen and beloved great-granddaughter, Harper.
