John D. “Jack” Coyne Jr., 90, of Holiday City Heights, Toms River, N.J., and formerly of Verona, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Community Medical Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 9:15 a.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, N.J. 08755. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. Internment will follow at Christ the King Mausoleum at St. Maximilian R.C. Church.
Born in New York City, Jack lived in Verona, N.J., for 33 years before moving to Toms River in 1995. He was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx and Illinois College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He received his CPCU designation from Rutgers Graduate School.
Jack worked as an insurance field agent, retiring from C.W. Bollinger Agency in Montclair, N.J., in 1995. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, John D. Coyne Sr. and Ada Sproul Coyne, and his only sibling, Sister Patricia Coyne, Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Felece Coyne; his daughter, Mary Kay Leddy and her husband, Lee, of Spring Lake, N.J.; his son, Philip Coyne and his wife, Julia, of Mine Hill, N.J., and his dear grandchildren, Jack, Casey and Margaret, and remaining cherished cousins in Maine.
