George BukwichMr. George A. Bukwich, 79, died on April 19, 2018 in Livingston. A funeral mass will be offered in Holy Family Church, Florham Park, on Thursday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Born in East Orange, raised in Maplewood, Mr. Bukwich lived in Caldwell and Parsippany prior to moving to Florham Park 51 years ago.

He graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep in 1956 and Rutgers College of Pharmacy, Newark in 1960. He was the owner of Center Drugs in Verona for 46 years, retiring in May of 2016.

Mr. Bukwich served on the Florham Park Board of Health, the Holy Family Parish Council, the Paterson Diocese School Board and was an active member of the St. Benedict’s Prep Alumni Association.

Mr. Bukwich was predeceased by his parents, George O. and Helen Bukwich and his sister, Angela. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol (Duym) Bukwich, his children, Donna, Michael, Thomas and William (and his wife, Grace), his grandchildren, Michael Anthony, Nicholas, Gabriella and his sisters, Carol Guarino and Barbara Southard.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Benedict’s Prep, (Advancement Office) 520 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Newark NJ 07102-1314 would be appreciated.
