You know that email you got earlier today about Verona public schools having an early dismissal on Wednesday, March 21? Forget it.
Verona Superintendent Dr. Rui Dionisio has just announced that, because the impending snow storm, Verona schools will be completely closed tomorrow. All after-school activities have also been scrapped. No word yet on the additional collateral damage to spring break: Verona schools had already clawed back Friday, April 6 because of the previous nor’easter.
Even though spring officially started on Tuesday just after noon, weather pundits are saying that the storm that they are calling Winter Storm Toby could bring a foot of snow to our area. We’re hoping that this nor’easter won’t be as punishing as the others, but if it is, please remember to call the Verona Police Department about downed trees and other emergencies (911 or 973-239-5000), but call PSEG about downed wires at 800-436-7734. You can keep an eye on the PSEG outage map here.
