Hold Onto Your Trees, Please

downed tree branchesWinter storm Quinn caused a lot of branches and trees to fall all over Verona. If you have already stacked those pieces at the curb in front of your house, that’s great. The Township of Verona would, however, like you to not put out any more until it is caught up on what is out there already.

The Department of Public Works and Verona’s tree contractors are going street by street to collect downed trees and broken branches. Next week, these workers may even have a chipper in tow to mulch everything right on the spot. If you have tree debris, you can call DPW at 973-857-4804 to be put on its cleanup list. Remember that all downed wires should be reported to PSEG at 1-800-436-7734.

In the meantime, if you want to clear your own yard, the township leaf dump at the far end of Commerce Court is open to residents who want to bring storm debris over themselves.
