The flute, cello, and piano trio Terzetta will perform a program of music celebrating women composers at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 in the Alumni Theatre on Caldwell University’s campus. Terzetta members are university Music faculty members Nan Childress-Orchard, piano, and Rebecca Vega, flute, and their colleague Jacqueline Stern, cello. Vega is a resident of Verona.
The group’s repertoire spans from the Baroque era through the 21st century.
The program will highlight trios by the 19th-century French composer and pedagogue Louise Farrenc (1804-75); Undine Smith Moore (1904-89), an African-American composer, well known for her choral music; and the Spanish composer-pianist, Elisenda Fábregas (b. 1955).
Trio members will also perform duets by Grammy Award winner Joan Tower (b. 1938); Lili Boulanger (1893-1918), the first woman to win the Prix de Rome composition prize; as well as Hilary Tann (b. 1947), a Welsh-born composer who now resides in the United States.
Tickets are $10 or four for $30. Caldwell University students with i.d. are free.
